On the first Friday of February through December, Lauren shares her Indie Horror Inbox Roundup showcasing new and upcoming indie horror projects she’s been emailed about.
Don’t have a marketing budget? No worries, Fam. That’s THE number one woe for indie creators. That’s why… It’s FREE! But you’ll need to write to Lauren quickly.
Lauren can only guarantee coverage for the first 20 horror creators who write to her each month. After those spots are filled, she can only say she’ll TRY to include you. She always aims to include as many folks as she can because she loves you and wants to help you succeed, but her health has to come first and the Indie Horror Roundups take a LOT of her energy/Spoons to create.
Still interested? Amazing! Just six QUICK rules regarding submissions:
- Whatever you’re submitting to HorrorFam.com to cover must be HORROR related. YOU probably think that’s obvious, but not everyone is as intelligent and amazing as you are. 😉
- Do NOT send Lauren AI-created projects. Only HUMAN creators/creations will be accepted.
- Do NOT send Lauren hardcore “adult”/explicitly sexual/excessively violent material. If your project is R-rated, that’s totally fine! Most horror falls into that category. But keep in mind that everything we cover on HorrorFam.com is done so in a PG-13 way. This mostly pertains to images (some of your gore may need to be blurred). Lauren has no issue linking to the NSFW version of your actual project for those who want to see more! But we strive to keep it clean for what’s shown here.
- YES – you can share your crowdfunding campaign! So long as your horror project shows a clear vision with intent to follow through, Lauren LOVES sharing “please help me get this off the ground”/”help me on the last leg of completing this” indie horror creations.
- YES – you can share photos and/or videos! Lauren prefers horizontal/landscape images, but if all you have are vertical/portrait images that’s okay (she can work with you to edit them). She can only embed YouTube videos; however, if your video is in another format, she’ll take a screenshot of it to share as an image and then link out to where your actual video can be watched. If you don’t have links to your images and only have them available as attachments – don’t worry! Just let Lauren know in your message below and she’ll grab those from you in her follow-up email.
- YES – you can share links! Please feel free to include links to your website, social media handles, and/or any other links you feel are necessary. Keep in mind that any affiliate links MUST be labeled as such (we’re based in Los Angeles and it’s the LAW!).
